RISE UP MONDAY!
Energy and attitude added to any task makes all the difference.

The happy myth/truth of Down syndrome: Our kids are not happy all the time as the myth would have you believe. However, as with most myths, they carrry some truth. I would say Wil is happy more than the average person. For a lot of reasons. For one, he finds joy in little things easily overlooked: His breath on a cold day; catching sight of his shadow and stopping to make shadow animals; stopping to hear a bird sing. We can easily miss these little things because our heads are always thinking. Holding on to things. Rolling them over again and again. But Wil let’s stuff go. He doesn’t forget hard things, scary things, hurtful things. No, he remembers. But he doesn’t hold on to them. There are no grudges in his heart. That’s the difference. That’s the secret to his lightness. To his quick happiness. I’m thankful to be a first-hand learner of his happiness skills.
