Inclusion is not only for our kids with special needs. Inclusion benefits every child in the classroom. We all have challenges, not one of us is exempt. Challenges look different for each individual. Inclusion is about building a community based on understanding and valuing our differences, as opposed to the segregation of fearing what we do not understand.

RISE UP MONDAY!

When Wil was younger, every once in a while I would get a slight twinge of jealousy when I saw another boy his age run and move so easily and swiftly. Now, when I watch Wil throw a softball, I’m filled with as much joy as if he hit 1000 home runs.
Ironically, I would never know this kind of joy if he so easily and swiftly hit 1000 home runs.
